Zion Train News Update July 2001

What a month June was for us, it seems the Summer has arrived!!
We spent a week touring Finland, land of the midnight sun, where it was amazing to be sitting in virtually daylight conditions at 3 or 4 am every night for a week. Our first gig was a sound-system-style appearance with Perch and Molara supported by Helsinki,s own Dub Sound Crew. We then hooked up with Cod (melodica) and Stickleback (guitar) for three shows alongside the Soul Captain band in three Finnish cities very rootical vibes, full respect to all the Soul Captain crew watch out for Zion Train remixes of their work coming soon.
We then rushed to the north of Finland to play the Provinssirock festival lovely crowd, vicious mosquitoes!! Next on the agenda was a much-anticipated trip to Zambia to play at the Solipse party, which had been planned to coincide with the longest full solar eclipse for 100 years 4 minutes of totality at 3pm a truly humbling experience. Zambia is an amazing place, beautiful people and great natural beauty. We played on a stage built around the trunk of a huge tree on the savannah alongside the Orb and many trance DJs from all over the world; the crowd was an amazing mix of people from all corners of the globe, it was an honour and a privilege to be present and add our vibes to such an event.
Next up Lisbon, where we played at a large city festival alongside the Mad Professor. What a reception we received, especially considering that it was our first ever appearance in Portugal we left asking how soon we would be able to return.
'Dub This Net' was released in June - it,s a dub compilation put together by French radio DJ Laurent Diouf and features Zion Train alongside other dubsters check it out.

More news soon. Check the website http://wobblyweb.com for further gig details.
