Zion Train and Universal Egg News
Festival season is really peaking at the moment, what a month
for shows. In the last few weeks Zion Train have made first time
visits to both Croatia and Serbia.
Johno and Perch had a great time playing a sound system at Mocrava
(The Swamp) in Zagreb and a storming session on Croatia's radio
100. The whole crew then visited the excellent Exit festival in
Novi Sad, Serbia. Held
within the walls of a 300 year old fortress on the banks of the
Danube weplayed to a beautiful and immense crowd and observed
the troubling sight of Novi Sad bridge still lying in the river
after the bombardment of the area by NATO.
The Summerjam festival in Koeln, Germany was a beau! tiful experience
as ever, if a little wet. This festival is an amazing celebration
of the breadth and depth reggae music. The event was slightly
marred by the dodgy politics of Jamaican MC Capleton who will
hopefully learn from the day he was a bigot a little too close
to Zion Train (enough said!)
DJ Perch also played at the Fusion festival near Rostock, Germany.
A lovely, small, friendly festival with 24 hour music and arts
for at least 3 days - amazing.
