PRESS RELEASE
on yabba griffiths & traxx raw #1102

Fans of Yabba Griffiths and Traxx will be pleased to see the more
frequent releases on CD's these days. Yabba Griffiths and Traxx have long
been a legendary reggae band in Chicago and touring across the USA.
With the release of their latest CD entitled The Yabba Griffiths Story,
fans will be treated to a tangible souvenir of some of their better songs
including "My Story - The Yabba Griffiths Story" a sly reference to
Alligator Records' brief dabbling into reggae music, as well as the much
loved "Hold On To This Feeling", which was written by Yabba Griffiths at
the birth of his first son, Jamal, some twenty years ago.

Yabba Griffiths and Traxx put their own interpretation on the Otis
Redding classic "Dock of the Bay" now called "Dock USA" as well as a
humorous rendition of The Heptones "Fat Girl" in "Bad Girl" which should
get the wife romantic while keeping the toddler away from any forbidden
items, or at least make them both think that Daddy understands.

Original classics "Dance Little Children" and "Bang Bang Song" are included
on this CD. "Bang Bang Song" was inspired by Yabba Griffiths and Traxx
annual appearance at the Evanston, IL First Night New Year's eve
celebrations. "Dance Little Children" has long been a favorite at
culturally themed grade school assemblies and outdoor summer festivals,
as is "Reggae Party".

Yabba Griffiths' politically astute songwriting is reminiscent of the
wit and satire of Bob Dylan on such tunes as "Radical", "The War" and
"Clark Street". The release of The Yabba Griffiths Story makes this
award winning band accessible to the curious who have heard only the
legend.
