Pama International April News 2006

Massive thanks to everyone who came out to our London, Milton Keynes, Bangor and Newbury shows in March, especially Mad Professor, JC @ Muffjam, Titan System, Rhys-Hendre Hall and Paul-The Pitz. We had an absolutely amazing night at Cargo with Mad Professor! Much fun was had. Great to play with Sir Horace Panter on bass again, been a few years and also a pure delight to have the legend Nick Mannaseh mixing front of house for us. Fantastic stuff. Here's some live reviews from the March shows...

"one of the best dub-reggae bands I've ever seen live"
FACT Magazine

"Pama International make the most of the venue,s superior PA and play an effortlessly slick set and cementing their reputation as one of the tightest bands in town" Reggae News.co.uk

"Great energy and live vibes. Quality reggae produced by few musicians i realised: keyboards, bass, drums, trumpet and voice. Great sound control and dubbity from Nick Manasseh at the controls. Singer had got a great voice. Quality reggae flow courtesy of the bass lines... BIG UP everyone!!"
Soundclash.org

So whats new?

In The Studio

We're still busy recording the new album and Mum's still the word, but we can say there are some 8 legendary reggae guests appearing on the album, which has been recorded in UK, Jamaica and USA. It is sounding sensational. Watch this space!!!!!

Live & Direct

"Healing the nation with musical vibration"

We've got four shows this month including the first two Pama Intl Good Medicine Shows at Camden Town's infamous Dublin Castle (see flyer above). The idea of the Good Medicine Shows is to do some smaller more exclusive London shows in boozers around the capital, with fantastic up and coming support acts (including London sensation Rank Deluxe (just signed to Fat Cat Rcds), the reggae sounds of the Rough Edge Quartet, punk-fuelled indie sounds of south London boys The Dice and legendary DJs Don Letts (on the Saturday) and Greg Dread-Dreadzone (on the Friday).

For those of you new to the DJs....Don Letts is a Grammy award winning British film director, founder member of Big Audio Dynamite and DJ, famed for introducing dub & reggae to the London punk scene at the legendary Roxy nightclub, whilst Greg Dread is the creator of Dreadzone and also original member of Big Audio Dynamite who spins heavy dub-inspired tunes from roots to dance to breaks.

We've put together what we think are two sensational nights and hope if you're anywhere around the capital you'll beable to make it along. Please get tickets first though as this is only a 130 capacity a night show. You can get tickets from www.wegottickets.com <http://www.wegottickets.com> (only 50p booking fee) or www.ticketweb.co.uk <http://www.ticketweb.co.uk>
