ONE LOVE opening weekend events Fri 15th Sat 16th July (RISE)
One Love stars son of Bob, Ky-Mani Marley alongside Cherine Anderson (Dancehall Queen) and Vas Blackwood (Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels). Shot entirely in Jamaica, it has been described as a modern take on Romeo and Juliet with stunning photography and a great soundtrack featuring Sean Paul, Luciano and Bob Marley amongst others.

 

Fri 15 July Khus (RISE)

Coinciding with the opening two nights of the Jamaican production "One Love at the Ritzy Cinema, the Ritzy Café presents Khus and Lord Byron.

"South London,s Khus mashing it up Live ! exclaims their press release. "Helen McDonald gets busy vocals weave and the words deliver. Lee Digidub at the board Dubbed inna year 3000 style. Zulu India at the berimbau, talking drum and percussion.

With front woman Helen McDonald holding the crowd, live dub from Lee Digidub at the mixer and Zulu India keeping the rhythms rock tight this is a night for soul-jazz, dub and reggae fans alike.

Sat 16 July Lord Byron (RISE)
Hosted from the decks by mainstay of the Brixton reggae scene, DJ Geoff Parker (who also runs the excellent site reggaezine.co.uk) legendary reggae poet and singer Lord Byron (Renascence Records) provides the live action, bringing his roots-vibe to the Ritzy Café (with Ailas Bongolis on guitar and backing vocals) for this second of our two-night dub-reggae dates to coincide with the release of the film "One Love. In a recent interview Groove Armada said that if they could have one special guest at an intimate house party it would be Mr Byron himselfcome find out why.
