With an impressive gathering of roots artists who sew the seeds that grew the roots to the doctrine.

Wailing Souls In the early days this group consisted of Winston 'Pipe' Matthews, Lloyd 'Bread' McDonald, and George 'Buddy' Haye, before breaking up in 1968.
The group worked with famed producer "Jo Jo" Hookim and his Channel One label. They recorded classics like "Things and Times," "Joy With Your Heart," and "Very Well." In the early 80's they worked with a number of hot producers including Sly and Robbie recording "Old Broom" on their Taxi Label, "Fire House Rock" for "Junjo" Lawes'
Meditations Ansel Cridland and Danny Clarke' and Winston Watson,
During the 70's they recorded with Dobby Dobson and release "Message" from the Meditations, one of the most breath-taking albums ever recorded, with hit singles like "woman is like a shadow" and "Running for Jamaica".
They left Dobson and joined Lee "Scratch" Perry it was Perry who introduce them to Bob Marley that resulted in the trio backing The Wailers on "Rastaman Redemption" and "Punky Reggae Party". Today the group are seen as the elder statesmen of Roots
Fred Locks aka Strafford Elliot started is career as a member of the vocal group the Lyrics, in the mid seventies he took on the name Fred Locks, it was the release of his enduring roots anthem "Black Star Liner" which include hits "True Rasta Man" in 1975 that put him on the reggae map. Fred locks is a distinctive Rasta artist who really records songs not in a strictly conscious vain
Israel Vibration is one of the greatest triumphs to come out of the Jamaican reggae scene. Israel Vibrations first single release "Why Worry" (1976) They teamed up with Ian and Rodger Lewis from Inner Circle, to record their debut LP "The Same Song" for Tommy Cowan's Top Ranking label. The album contained such songs as "Same Song, Weep and Mourn,." The Same Song was released in 1976 and was a huge success. Israel Vibration takes great pride in being performers. They feel their purpose as singers of reggae music is to spread the message of Rastafari to everyone who is willing to listen.
