Music in the Sun is proud to be joined
by Hallam FM in presenting the JOY2k
Festival at the Don Valley Grass Bowl, Sheffield, on the weekend
of 10th and
11th June 2000.
This will be the eleventh annual multi
cultural festival, and this year
promises to be bigger and better than ever, with many great acts
to appeal
to all colours, credes, and ages.
Saturday 10th June, presented by Hallam
FM, sees many chart acts appearing
on the mainstage, including the Dumdums, Eugene Speed, Made in
London,
Madasun, Atomic Kitten, New Generation, Precious, Billie Piper,
and
headlined by Terrorvision. The New Talent Stage features among
many others
Pachinos, Groop Dogdrill, and the night finishes with Juggla Crew.
There
will also be many guest comperes for the day, with Hallam FM DJs
presenting
many of the acts.
The Sound System tent is pleased on Saturday
to be entertained by the world,
s number one Jamaican Sounds of Killamanjaro, with Sunday seeing
Jah Sounds
International returning from Holland, and cool vibes from Luv
Injection and
Sheffield,s own Will Powa Foundation, and the two deck don Mr
Jetstar.
On the 11th June Mainstage sees many
reggae acts including Nucleus Roots,
Robbie Valentine, Skibu, Mad Professor, Anthony Johnson, Special
Guest Wayne
Wonder, and headlined by Jamaica,s finest Buju Banton with a full
backing
band.
The new talent stage hosted by The Deep
End Edutainment Experience presents
an afternoon of music and visual artists, including Elfin, Sono,
The Lazy
Dollies, The Baghdaddies, and rounded out by Seafood.
Also on Sunday in the Dance Tent the
sounds are presented by Pure Rugged
entertainment, and features many acts including Def Jam and Sony
Street
presenting showcases, and artists presenting the best R&B,
Hip Hop, and Sexy
Garage, with renowned DJs including J Rugged and Freddie Kruga.
The event features a fun fair, roving
entertainers, and many arts and craft
stalls, with food from many different cultures, and a full schedule
of
events, including a chance to enter the draw to win a brand new
car,

All this for the advanced price of only
£12 for a weekend ticket for adults,
£5 for children aged 5-15, and free to OAPs and children
