LONGER BLURB

Two rooms of the finest Caribbean and Latin sounds from Jamaica to Puerto Rico and Trinidad to Cuba: dancehall/bashment, reggaeton, R'n'B, soca, Latin hip hop, reggae and zouk. Grime lord Jammer, formerly of NASTY Crew, passes through to drop an exclusive grimey bashment PA and keep things crazy hype on the mic. As a producer he's been smashing it recently with killer productions and remixes for the likes of Roots Manuva - while his incendiary live performances have been spreading the grime gospel all over Europe and North America. Just don't call him the Lil' Jon of grime... Neckle! London's new Latin sensations La Raza (Colombia) are also in the house with a live PA of their reggaeton/Latin hip hop bombs plus a troupe of hot reggaeton dancers. ¡Ay, que bueno!

Plus top-a-top selectors NoRequests (93 Feet East/Showrooms) - always on the money whether dropping dancehall, R'n'B or grime - keep things bashy alongside resident DJs Heatwave (Punchline Records), Lubi (Nascente Records) and MDK (Twice as Nice). CD and vinyl giveaways courtesy of Greensleeves and VP Records. Check the website for more details and photos: www.heatwavelondon.com

ARTIST BIOGS

Jammer

Hailing from Leytonstone, East London, producer/MC/hype man Jammer is one of the key figureheads of the grime/garage scene: big tunes include Fire Hydrant, Destruction VIP (featured on the Run The Road compilation) and Kano's Boys Luv Girls ("the pirate anthem of 2004"). The former N.A.S.T.Y. Crew member (now running his own clique, Jah Mek The World) smashed it in New York earlier this year alongside 17-year-old protege Ears and MC D Double E in one of grime's first forays into North America. Jammer's also worked with godfather of grime Wiley (Roll Deep), Lethal B (More Fire Crew) and Riko Dan and remixed the big man of UK hip hop, Roots Manuva, as well as finding time to launch the successful DVD series Lord of the Mic! His incendiary live performances - some call him the Lil' Jon of grime - have earned him a reputation as the most rewound artist around. Like he says...Neckle!

· "A brilliant grime pioneer" - The New York Times
"The crowd were obviously loving it, loving it, loving it" - Chantelle Fiddy on Jammer in New York

The Heatwave DJs

Holding it down for over three years with their crunked-up dancefloor blend of dancehall/bashment, R'n'B, reggae, soca and reggaeton which has earned them numerous guest slots alongside the likes of Buju Banton, Suncycle, Robbo Ranx, Tubby T, DJ Vadim, The Bug, Yungun, Warrior Queen, Coldcut and Ross Allen.

Heatwave's residencies at 333, Momo's and Herbal and recent appearances at big nights including Champion Sound (Cargo), Fidgit (Plan B), Bristol Carnival, Wwwhut!? (93 Feet East) and the Non-Stop label launch party have earned them praise from the likes of Time Out: "the most exciting new luminaries of London's

burgeoning dancehall scene".

Also responsible for a glut of remixes on the bootleg 7" imprint Punchline, notably a chart-topping refix of Trick Me by Kelis featuring Beenie Man & T.O.K. These have been rinsed on radio and in dances alike by Gilles Peterson, David Rodigan, 100% Dynamite/Soul Jazz, Daddy G (Massive Attack), DJ /Rupture, Blood & Fire, The Bug and more.

The Mas Fuego! DJs

Lubi Jovanovic has been pushing Latin music for over 20 years, DJing all over the UK and Europe and writing the Latin Lowdown for StraightNoChaser magazine. Not to mention releasing a string of hit compilation CDs for Nascente Records, shifting upwards of 100,000 units and counting of titles such as Urban Latino, Beginner's Guide to Cuba and the upcoming Mas Fuego: 100% Reggaeton.
