SHORT BLURB

Exclusive dancehall/reggae PA from the biggest noise in UK hip hop right now Klashnekoff, whose Can't You See track features on Run The Road Vol. 2. Guest DJs Jose Luis (Latin Flow) and Bashment Billy join residents Heatwave and Don Lubi dropping the hottest dancehall/bashment, reggaeton, R'n'B, soca, Latin hip hop, reggae and ragga jungle.

LONGER BLURB

Two rooms of the finest Caribbean and Latin sounds from Jamaica to Puerto Rico and Trinidad to Cuba, all via East London: dancehall/bashment, reggaeton, R'n'B, soca, Latin hip hop, reggae and ragga jungle. September's live PA comes from reggae-influenced East London rapper Klashnekoff, one of the brightest stars of this country's underground with a string of singles, mixtapes and the acclaimed LP Sagas Of Klashnekoff to his name. His appearance on Run The Road Vol. 2 (out early September) should cement his already impressive reputation. Expect to hear him spitting fire over classic dancehall and reggae riddims from the 80s to the present day, including the massive Welcome To Jamrock instrumental.

Meanwhile, top-a-top teenage selector Bashment Billy keeps things, er, bashy alongside resident DJs Heatwave (Punchline Records) and Don Lubi (Nascente Records). London-based Venezuelan DJ Jose Luis of Cargo's pioneering reggaeton night Latin Flow joins Lubi for a hot session from the UK's two original Urban Latin Dons keeping things caliente since 1995!

ARTIST BIOGS

KLASHNEKOFF

Hackney born and bred father of two Klashnekoff, whose West Indian roots are clearly audible in his music, is the founder member of top UK hip hop crew Terra Firma. His insightful lyrics and powerful live performances have gained him cult status in the UK hip hop scene and have also attracted the attention of East London's grime producers. But when he's not shaking up the garage world, he's delivering killer verses over reggae like the Welcome To Jamrock instrumental (his version is out this month) and releasing stone cold hip hop classics like Murda, or albums like last year's much-fêted The Sagas of Klashnekoff. With the attention garnered by his performance on Run The Road 2, he's definitely one to watch.

HEATWAVE

Holding it down for over three years with their crunked-up dancefloor blend of dancehall/bashment, R'n'B, reggae, soca and reggaeton which has earned them numerous guest slots alongside the likes of Buju Banton, Suncycle, Robbo Ranx, Tubby T, DJ Vadim, The Bug, Yungun, Warrior Queen and Coldcut.

Heatwave's residencies at 333, Momo's and Herbal and recent appearances at big nights including Desttination Out (Cargo), Fidgit (Plan B), Bristol Carnival, Wwwhut!? (93 Feet East) and the Non-Stop label launch party have earned them praise from the likes of Time Out, who called them "the most exciting new luminaries of London's dancehall scene".

Heatwave are also responsible for a glut of remixes on the bootleg 7" imprint Punchline, notably a chart-topping refix of Trick Me by Kelis featuring Beenie Man & T.O.K. These have been rinsed on radio and in dances alike by Gilles Peterson, David Rodigan, Daddy G (Massive Attack), DJ /Rupture, Blood & Fire, The Bug and more. Heatwave's own label Scandal Bag has just released the single Let It Billie by DJ C & Quality Diamond which is currently enjoying multiple plays on Radio 1 and Kiss FM and heavy club support from the likes of 100% Dynamite, DJ Yoda and Ross Allen.

DON LUBI

Lubi Jovanovic has been pushing Latin music for over 20 years, DJing all over the UK and Europe and writing the Latin Lowdown for StraightNoChaser magazine. Not to mention releasing a string of hit compilation CDs for Nascente Records, shifting upwards of 100,000 units and counting of titles such as Urban Latino, Beginner's Guide to Cuba and the upcoming Mas Fuego: 100% Reggaeton.
