Dub Goes Oriental

Baba Zula's zany blend of oriental melodies and rhythms with electronics are a perfect playground for the legendary British-Guyanan dub producer Mad Professor to work his wonders as their live sound engineer. He's also mixed their last two albums. Using traditional instruments such as saz, and def drum, Baba Zula are iconoclastic, daring and experimental, bringing the flavour of reggae into Turkish music. They perform with their own belly dancer and live stage sketch artist.
Opening set by the Mad Professor and his crew.

Baba Zula feature in the film Crossing the Bridge on release from 24 Feb 2006, Curzon Soho, Barbican Screen, Ritzy Brixton, Rio Dalston
