Wayne Wonder is consistently one of the top singers
in Reggae Dancehall music, and his brand new studio album Schizophrenic.
"Sasha" is the first single, and is just one of the
many hits to come on Schizophrenic. Wayne's string of hits over
the past decade has been unprecedented in Reggae music, and along
with his solo work has co-written many number one singles with
the internationally successful Dancehall deejay, Buju Banton.
Wayne's album for Madhouse/ Xtra Large, DA VIBE (distributed
by Artists Only! Records worldwide) released last year contains
all of his worldwide hits which brought out the raw emotion of
his recording from the early days. Wayne also started his own
label in 2000 called SingSo, and released a number of singles
on his successful Ambush rhythm. Wayne also appears on hip-hop
artist Foxy Brown's new 2001 Def Jam CD, Broken Silence, teaming
up with her on a remake of his classic "Saddest Day."
Schizophrenic, produced by Jah Mike of Reggae Vibes Productions
(who also produced Ky-Mani Marley's landmark Many More Roads album
release on AO! this year) shows a rawer side of Wayne's talents,
and includes performances by Suprize, Wayne's alter-ego as a DJ/rapper,
thus lending to the "schizophrenic" title of the CD.
The CD also includes duets with his young DJ protege, Showki
Ru, from his Entourage Crew, and Spragga Benz to name a few on
this powerful album.
BUSHMAN - A BETTER PLACE (AOR-40)
Bushman, born Dwight Duncan in 1973, has been an artist
at the forefront of the roots Reggae music scene in recent years.
He grew up in a rural area called Prospect Beach in the parish
of St. Thomas, Jamaica, and as a Rastafarian since his early childhood.
Music was a great influence on him also as artists like Bob Marley,
Dennis Brown, and Luciano helped shape the direction and sound
of this talented young singer.
Bushman completed his breakthrough first album in 1997 for
Studio 2000 titled Nyah Man Chant, and from there he moved on
and began work with the legendary King Jammy for his 1998 Greensleeves
CD release, Total Commitment and Higher Ground in early 2001.
Bushman's mix of traditional cultural messages the sound of contemporary
Reggae musicianship showed his maturing as an artist. He also
hit in 1999 with his song, "Truly Great" appearing on
the Morgan Heritage Family and Friends Vol. 1 CD on Artists Only!.
His all new Artists Only! CD, A Better Place, produced by the
powerhouse team of Stingray Records UK, shows his progress as
a mature young leader of cultural artists that have their appeal
in both Jamaica and internationally. This album will help set
the stage as this young artist progresses into Reggae superstardom.
Currently, Bushman is on tour with the Kings of Kings Tour featuring
other great artists like Iley Dread, Norris Man, Chrisinti, and
Nikki Burt through the end of November. The sold-out SOBs show

SCREWDRIVER - PROPHECY (AOR-76)
Screwdriver (Dalton Lindo, b. 1960, St. James, Jamaica)
is one of the most spiritual roots and culture vocal artists in
Reggae music today. Critics and fans have embraced this singer
who was inspired by early dancehall singing influences as Pinchers,
Pliers, Spanner Banner, and Tenor Saw. His career began the mid
1980's with the encouragement of Beres Hammond. He recorded a
number of local hits including "No Mama" in which he
topped the Jamaican charts in 1989. Screwdriver relocated to Florida
in the early 90s and his first album, Teach Dem was released in
1992. He released two more successful albums in the 90's Calling
Calling and Let Me Remind You as he continues to perform actively
worldwide.
This new album, Prophecy offers a powerful and inspirational
continuation of that enlightened tradition. Screwdriver has done
it again, by tightening the niche of quality and artistry. He
has taken the music beyond set limits, fulfilling expectations
while remaining true to consciousness and roots culture. From
the ska beat of the "Heat Is On" to the world beat of
"No Vacancy," Reggae music is represented in its finest
forms. From the up tempo "Reason" and the slow groove
of "What We Gonna Do," the album captures the amazing
spirit of Screwdriver's writing ability and his electric vocal
style.
Most artists play within the confines of tradition and
standards, while a very select few push the boundaries of musical
satisfaction. With Prophecy, Screwdriver has created another album
filled with passion, consciousness, and spirituality. Screwdriver
reconfirms his ability to push aside the barriers of lyrics, melody,
arrangement and instrumentation to capture the changing pulse
of Reggae music.
LUCIANO / SIZZLA / ANTHONY B - WE THREE KINGS (AOR-71)
Three masters of Reggae come together on We Three Kings. Sizzla, Anthony B. and Luciano make up We Three Kings, each bringing their distinct vocal style to this unique album. We Three Kings contains some of the best material ever recorded by these artists. Starting out with Luciano, "Blast Off, Go A Moon" kicks the CD into high gear. Sizzla follows with "Keep It Real" and Anthony B. comes in with "Heavy Like Lead" to let you know that these artists mean business. Throughout the entire CD, these artists each take turns introducing us to their soothing vocals and proving they are three kings. Some of these songs have only been released as singles in Jamaica, the U.K. and the U.S. This is the first time that they're collected for CD.
BEENIE MAN - YOUTHQUAKE (AOR-79)
BEENIE MAN - Y2K (AOR-31)
Youthquake is an album of stellar material recorded prior to his agreement with Virgin. Youthquake has been re-mastered, edited and polished to perfection. The legendary producer Jack Scorpio, who has recorded the biggest names in the genre, is behind this mixing board and responsible for the classic dancehall rhythms on the album.
