Irie from Yugoslavia!
Thanks for the post, it is very informative.
But I am puzzled with one statement and shedding some light on it would, so I think, help us, white reggae-lovers devoted to reggae culture not because of missing drum Freudian moment but because of it political and emotional message: one love, one race, one blood.
This statement confuses me:

>I thank you for what I think is an important statement about the dangers of books like this which in my opinion puts race relations in jeopardy. Although it would be a Disneylike world to say we are all the same, it is my belief that until we openly speak of the differences in the human race, the differences that the Creator made with a purpose, and embrace and respect those differences, we will never erode the chains of racism<

We just had a wonderful anti racist manifestation in Yugoslavia ( in organization of my Reggae Power Movement) and our message was that we are all the same. I am in agreement with your call to respect differences ( because they are not important, paradoxically as it may sound) and not write books if we are not absorbed thoroughly in some culture or not learned enough about it, but I cannot understand your point about differences made by purpose. Could you clarify this, please?
Give Thanks!
