Hi
I read your article and it was well done. However, I need to point
out that in the US 12" singles are also dead ... or just
about. VP, the biggest reggae album distributor, has started selling
7" following the path of Music Ambassador, the biggest 7"
distributor in the world.
In the original article Chris O'Brien of Greensleeves Records
stated that " the twelve inch is still the only singles format
in the US where if you showed them a seven inch single they wouldn't
know what it was." That is so far from the truth. I am a
sales person for Music Ambassador, the world's largest 7"
distributor, and we sell NO 12" singles. We sell to most
(if not all) of the mom and pop reggae record stores in the US
and no one buys 12" anymore. Keep up the good work.
